ejs magic
after a lot of trial and error, i finally found something that worked: ejs! i could use templates and put the data i wanted into them, which helped with partials like my navigation bar, and also with displaying my collection of blog posts from a mysql database, which you're seeing right now. i'm really happy with how the website looks right now, but i want to add some more elements, such as umami—to do basic analytics—and make my art have an onclick function, where it can be expanded and show captions or title. what's really great about this whole experience is that i can now transfer a lot of this knowledge to add more features to the badgerburrow project i did for madhacks (i did that hackathon btw! it was really fun though i had a migraine halfway through.) we're planning on implementing a submissions page and a submission review page, excitingg. i really must thank my mom for helping me on this, she showed me her work on a website using controllers and database queries, which really got me started with converting this website from static html. happy fall break, celeste
